In recent years, the AI wave has swept across the world, and the National Council for Science and Technology (NCS&T) has been actively promoting the New Southbound Policy, encouraging domestic academic institutions to increase technology exchanges with 18 New Southbound target countries. With the support of NSCT, NCCU has formed an alliance with the Indian Institute of Technology Ropar (IIT Ropar) and Chitkara University to establish the "Taiwan Indian Human Intelligence Overseas Research Center" in IIT Ropar for the first time. The first office of the "Taiwan Indian Center for Human Resource Intelligence Overseas Research" has been established in IIT Ropar, and has completed the establishment of space, funding planning, cooperation model and staffing. In the future, we will jointly promote national science and technology projects, develop key industrial technologies, and deepen bilateral cooperation between Taiwan and India.
The Overseas Research Center has three main missions: to deepen Taiwan-India AI academic exchanges, to encourage cross-border AI innovation and entrepreneurship cooperation, and to promote international AI programs, including dual master's and doctoral degree programs. The research area focuses on AIoT design and FinTech technologies in various fields, and has already achieved a number of results. In bilateral international faculty-student cooperation, preliminary research results have been achieved in smart face recognition, smart bamboo recognition, precision agriculture, and precision marketing and recommendation systems. The Center intends to serve as the largest platform for research, industry-academia collaboration, and innovation and entrepreneurship in these two fields between Taiwan and India for the benefit of both countries' national pillars and to further strengthen international relations between the two countries.
